Zlín Zone: guided architectural walks

Architectural walks with local guides will take you on tours of Planned City, Bata's Housing or Factory in the Gardens. The Zlín Zone tours are held every Wednesday and Saturday from May to September. They often sell out, so you'd better book your spot in advance.

Zlín Zone is a project of the city of Zlín that will show you Zlín's architecture through the eyes of the locals who love living here. Choose for yourself whether you want to hear the story of the whole city, explore the factory complex or see how people live in the tiny red brick houses on the hillside. The tours last about 2 hours and you can choose from three themes.

Unique walks with local guides through the architectural icons of Zlín. Get to know the city, the factory and the housing. Just beware, the tours sell out fast, so book early.

Planned City Walk

The fascinating story of a city that grew up on a green field. A functional combination of factories, residential areas, services, school buildings and recreational areas, which became a prototype for many Little Zlíns around the world. The route ends at the shining iconic structure of the Bata Monument, one of the jewels of world architecture.

Bata's Housing Walk

A walk among the Bata houses in the Letná district will reveal all the secrets of the Bata houses, their origin, history and present days. Houses from the 1930s, which were originally intended to serve Bata employees for only a few decades, are still a carefully cherished treasure of Zlín housing.

Factory in the Gardens

The incredible project of a well-planned factory, where everything is interconnected, is still breathtaking today. You'll walk through the factory complex, where the vibrant city life is gradually returning. You´ll also explore the nooks and crannies of the factory complex built by Bata almost a century ago.
