Baltaci Atrium Hotel

At the end of Lešetín II. Street, just a short distance from the railway line from Zlín to Otrokovice, three gentlemen opened a shoe factory in 1919. It was called MANOJ as an acronym of their surnames – Eduard Malota, František Novák and Arnošt Jirousek. At the beginning, the company was very successful and soon it employed 74 employees which was an impressive number for a small shoe manufacturer at that time. After two years, Eduard Malota became independent and from 1928 Novák and Jirousek also ran their own business. In 1928 a new factory building of the František Novák – Shoe Factory was put into operation.

František Novák, who was also the mayor of Zlín for four years from 1919, is the central figure of this story. After he broke up with Malota and Jirousek, his own production of men's shoes employed up to 120 people. However, the Second World War came, followed by the nationalisation and merger with the Bata Company. During the socialist era, the building was known as the Marie Majerová House and a Svit boarding school operated here.

Since the Velvet Revolution in 1989, or rather since privatisation, a new history of this place is being written. Bohumil Žaludek reconstructed the factory building twice. After the first reconstruction in the 1990s, the building was used for administrative purposes for about 20 years. At the end of the noughties, the second reconstruction of the entire building took place. Nowadays, on the site of František Novák´s factory you will find an elegant Baltaci Atrium Hotel which belongs to the activities of the Baltaci Group. It is currently managed by Lukáš Žaludek, son of Bohumil Žaludek and great-grandson of František Novák.

And it is not the only hotel that belongs to the Baltaci Group. A well-established 3* Hotel Baltaci U Náhonu is located in Zlín - Podvesná IV. All hotels offer professional, reliable and heartfelt service.

The Baltaci Atrium Hotel provides luxury accommodation suitable for personalities from the world of art, sport, culture or state visits. Generous premises offer space for corporate events, conferences, celebrations, anniversaries or weddings. The hotel was opened in 2010 as the only 5* hotel in the Zlín Region. It now corresponds to the classification category of a 4* superior hotel and is constantly coming up with new features that attract guests to return.

Whether you are staying at the Baltaci Atrium Hotel or not, it is definitely worth a stop at the local Restaurant SOUR. In the evening, the elegant interior will inspire you to enjoy a glass of great Moravian or foreign red wine, a juicy steak, fish or Italian pasta. At lunchtime you can choose from an appetising lunch menu. The restaurant organises tasting evenings, theme dinners and Christmas parties that guests enjoy late into the night.
