Robota: Creative Workshop
ROBOTA is an open creative technology workshop at Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín that brings together education, creativity, inspiration, and new technologies. It appeals to anyone who doesn’t just want to explore Zlín, but also enjoys trying things out and creating something themselves. You’ll find it in Building 44 of the former Baťa factory complex.
Who is ROBOTA for?
The workshop is a place for DIY enthusiasts of all ages, for beginners as well as those who already have their own project and are looking for space, tools, and support from experienced instructors. It is open to the general public, students, graduates, schools, and companies. In short, anyone who wants to create, try new things, develop their own ideas, or give a second life to things that would otherwise end up in the trash is welcome to come.
What can you find in the workshop?
The workshop is equipped with both traditional craft tools and modern technology. For example, there are 3D printers, a 3D scanner, a laser cutter, an embroidery machine, a cutting plotter, and many other tools that visitors can use to design and create their own prototypes and original products.
When can you visit?
ROBOTA is open to the public during business hours every Monday from 12 PM to 8 PM and every Wednesday from 2 PM to 8 PM.
In addition, the workshop offers themed workshops, events for schools, kids’ clubs, and the popular regular event “Saturday at ROBOTA”—a creative morning for the public.
ROBOTA is also the official Prusa Education training center for the Zlín Region and organizes hands-on training focused on 3D printing and servicing Prusa printers.
ROBOTA shares the latest information about what’s happening at the workshop, workshops, and other events on its Instagram and Facebook. Admission to the workshop is free. The price for using individual machines depends on the selected material and specific equipment; therefore, you can find the current price list on the ROBOTA website.
